Humrush was formed in Kristiansand by brothers Torkjel Austad (Keyboards/Samples) and Halvard Helle (Guitars) in the beginning of 1998.

July 1999 Performs three intimate and successful nights at the Quart Festival with audiences including Massive Attack and Blur.

August 1999 The bands performs one of their best performances at the Urstock Festival.

November 1999 Performs at Vaskeriet, Kristiansand in an arrangment by the underground label Groovecentral. Other artists on this night include DJ Bjørn Torske, Jan Bang, Quadrant 4 and Dj David Dajani.

May 2000 Torkjel and Halvard starts working in their "Turbotape" relase. The songs are "Sugarpop" and "Only Way" and the basic work is produced together with Daniel Steinsland.

July 2000 Bass (Roger Williamsen) and drums (Klaus Blomvik) for "Turbotape" are recorded in Kristiansand.

August 2000 Vocals by Tine Wulff are recorded in Oslo. The final production is finished a month later by Torkjel, Halvard and Peter.

Janary 2001 Torkjel and Halvard reforms the band as a four-piece with Klaus Blomvik and brings in Anders Lidal on bass and vocals.

March 2001 Band performs at Pigalle, Oslo and is joined by Tine Wulff on vocals on three tracks.

April 2001 Finally, Humrush - Turbotape (12") is released on Groovecentral with remixes by Christian Watkins and Selsius.

April 25 2001 "Sugarpop" played at NRK P3 (Norwegian radio) for the first time. But this was litterly just the start. In the following months the various songs of the Turbotape release was played regulary through the year.

April 26 2001 "Sugarpop" is used in "Filmmagasinet" on NRK1 (Norwegian Broadcasting), a show on new movies on cinema.

March 2002, Humrush performed at the By:Larm festival with guest artists Salvador and Oscar from "Darkside of the Force" and Dan Drehn from Groovecentral.

Since then, Torkjel has studied in Australia for years where he composed music together with Christian Tanberg. Torkjel now lives in Tokyo, Japan.

Halvard on the other hand has been heavly involved with rapper Salvador and "Darkside of the Force". New album to be released in 2006!
